Dear friends of the North German Mission,

today you are receiving the September 2026 issue of the Newsletter, published by the North German Mission (NM).

We would like to draw your attention to an event on safe drinking water and a vegan cooking class – both taking place as part of the Bremen Water Weeks (Bremer Wasserwochen). You will also find an article by the South-North volunteer at the NM office.

Alongside this, you will again find general news from Ghana and Togo, and of course we will also introduce the current project in our "Project of the month" series.

We would be delighted if you would recommend our newsletter to your friends and acquaintances.

Best regards from the Newsletter team in Bremen

Hospital Chaplaincy

In Togo, most hospitals focus solely on medical care, leaving many patient needs unmet. The Evangelical Presbyterian Church’s (EEPT) hospital chaplaincy team in Lomé works to address these broader needs, providing spiritual support, counseling, prayers, and material assistance.

At the CHU Tokoin university hospital, diaconal workers Abra Efako and Lucie Gbemou, supported by volunteers, distribute care packages containing food, medicine, soap, and clothing to patients whose families cannot provide. Their work also extends to five hospitals and a prison in the region. Despite limited resources, the team’s support directly reaches those in need, helping patients, caregivers, and hospital staff cope with illness and hardship.
