Program to support Street Children in Ho/ Ghana

In Ghana, many children and young people live on the streets. In Ho, Volta Region, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana supports them through the project Nenyo Haborbor (“Together for a Better Life”). Founded 30 years ago, the program seeks out children on the streets, encourages them to attend school, and helps them find safe shelter with relatives or neighbors.

The project also offers regular afternoon activities, including games, music, and homework support. A small library is currently being set up to provide additional learning opportunities. Recently, a sewing workshop was established, where older girls who have completed school can learn tailoring skills and produce clothing for sale, passing their knowledge on to younger participants when they are ready.

Currently, 21 children between the ages of 9 and 16 are enrolled, including both boys and girls. Over the years, Nenyo Haborbor has helped countless children gain education, life skills, and a supportive community, creating lasting positive effects on their futures.
