Perspectives of a joint mission

Encounters on a theological level take place in Bremen Mission during so-called theological consultations where theologians from Ghana, Togo and Germany discuss current topics.

For instance, in 2005 the question was discussed how a common mission is possible in different contexts. In this case, the vision beyond the end of one's nose offered completely new perspectives. The participants came to the conclusion that „depending on your living conditions, God calls upon us to perform different tasks.”

The fight against ignorance in health matters is rather an African topic. Other topics, however, such as Aids or the life in a multi-cultural and multi-religious society, are also a challenge in Germany. This includes the spiritual as well as the physical needs of people, but also the fight against poverty, injustice and violation of human rights. Furthermore: the obligation towards peace, reconciliation and mutual respect.

The result of the consultation: pay close attention, reflect together and above all: go to the people who need the Good News in their life.
