Following the visit of Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryshenkow to Ghana and Togo, a significant expansion of trade between these countries is expected.

Togo is of particular interest to Belarus, as the port of Lomé not only facilitates trade with Togo itself, but also provides access to the Sahel states of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger. During the visit, it was also agreed that Belarus would deliver approximately 4,500 agricultural machines of various kinds to Togo. Foodstuffs from Belarus, such as meat and dairy products, are likewise subject to the agreements.

Furthermore, a cooperation in the field of education was arranged, including the training of specialist personnel in the medical-technical sector.

With Ghana, agreements of a similar nature and scope were concluded. These encompassed not only the delivery of machinery, but also the construction of service centres for said machinery, the training of local skilled workers, and the establishment of assembly plants. The visit of Ghanaian President Mahama to Belarus is scheduled for June 2026.
