The African Development Bank and the government of Togo have signed an agreement to support the country in securing a loan amounting to EUR 200 million.
Through this so-called partial credit guarantee from the African Development Fund, Togo will be able to raise EUR 200 million from international commercial lenders such as Deutsche Bank. The funds made available through this mechanism are to be allocated to green and social projects, including climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, access to clean energy, and environmental protection.
This initiative is part of the government’s 2020–2025 roadmap, which prioritizes inclusive growth—meaning investments in people and future-oriented sectors—targeted tax system reforms, and climate-resilient development.
