The Working Group ‘Koloniale Kontinuitäten Oldenburg’ draws attention to two events.

“Kabinettschau Perspektiv-Wechsel!" (literally: “Art gallery: shift in perspective”) is the title of the exhibition that will run from 21 May to 29 September 2024 at the State Museum Oldenburg, Damm 1 in 26135 Oldenburg. It is a critical examination of the museum's own collections. Works of art that depict discriminatory and racist stereotypes as well as sexualised representations will be put to the test. Kelly has made a film about Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's painting 'Sleeping Milli' and how black women have been degraded to anonymous objects of desire.
