On 4 June, the church association 'Zuflucht' invites you to a lecture at 5 pm in the Willehad-Saal/Alte Post, Domsheide 15 in Bremen.

Dealing with racism in almost all areas of society is a difficult task in Germany. It is still fraught with tension and cannot be taken for granted. On the one hand, there is often a lack of appropriate language to address racism without creating racism in the first place. On the other hand, there is a lack of knowledge about racism, which is why it is often not recognised. As a result, it is often assumed that 'everything is fine with us' and therefore there is no need to address it. Our own participation in racist conditions thus remains unreflected and untouched.

Dr Fatoş Atali-Timmer, research associate at the University of Oldenburg, will address individual-social, institutional-structural and discursive racism. She will deal with classical and modern racism, the different levels and forms in society.
