Protestant Church Launches Campaign on Climate Justice

Raising Awareness for Climate Protection and Personal Commitment as Goal

A nationwide social media campaign of the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD) is currently being developed, focusing on the urgent issue of climate justice. From September to November 2025, it will be disseminated through emotional image and video ads on Instagram.
The aim of the campaign is to specifically raise awareness for climate protection among digitally engaged people between the ages of 26 and 49 and to show them concrete opportunities for personal involvement. Already active users are also to be inspired with additional content and encouraged to participate more actively. Under the motto “You Count,” these target groups will be addressed on social media for three months—groups that usually have little connection to church or climate issues.
Corresponding visuals and videos will be created and published under the label “Protestant Church.” They will repeatedly direct users to a landing page that will go live in September 2025 at www.duzaehlst.de, showcasing the various aspects of the campaign. Projects from regional churches and different church services and organizations will also be highlighted there.
In this context, the Bremen Mission points to the Eco-Clubs initiated by the EP Church, Ghana, which carry out environmental and climate protection work in many of the church’s schools in Ghana.
