“Le Sel Noir – Perspectives on Black Contemporary Art” is the name of the new exhibition at the Städtische Galerie Bremen.

It features international contemporary art with socially critical content, whose title is taken from the poetry collection by postcolonial poet and thinker Edourd Glisant. The exhibition is a critical examination of the paternalistic over-identification with Black people in Western countries.

With works by: Valerie Asiimwe Amani, Lisa Marie Asubonteng, Sonia E. Barrett, Syowia Kyambi, Mónica de Miranda, Nástio Mosquito, Harold Offeh, Ngozi Ajah Schommers, Usha Seejarim, and Lerato Shadi.
