Wilbert Petty Brentum, Regional Minister of the Western North Region, highlighted the successful operations of Ghana Bauxite Company Ltd. during a visit to the company’s site in Awaso, Western North Region.
The company’s activities have led to increased job creation and significant economic growth in the region. He pledged government support through the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, emphasizing the company’s substantial contribution to the local economy.
Ghana Bauxite is Ghanaian-owned and operated. According to Brentum, it is “a shining example for other mining companies.” He urged other industry players to follow this model to enhance efficiency and productivity. At the same time, he encouraged the company to continue its corporate social responsibility initiatives for the local community in Awaso.
The purpose of the minister’s visit was to discuss matters of mutual interest between the company and the Regional Coordinating Council.
