The Federal Republic of Germany has made new financial commitments to Togo amounting to €50.3 million.
Germany is also the largest bilateral donor to Togo, with a total of around €567 million.

The funds will flow into the development of agricultural and food systems, health and social protection programmes, as well as the improvement of local administration. In addition, the support concerns, among other things, the maintenance of infrastructure financed by Germany and the prospects for further long-term cooperation.

German assistance is part of the Team Europe Joint Programming 2021–2027, which includes projects co-financed together with the European Union, France, and Luxembourg.
The G20 initiative “Compact with Africa,” supported by Berlin, is also part of the joint work. Through this initiative, a trust fund with several donors was established in October to promote reforms and encourage private investments in partner countries, including Togo.
