A Sign for Diversity

First Oldenburg Weeks Against Racism

The City of Oldenburg has long been committed to combating discrimination, racism, and misanthropic attitudes and has set itself the goal of promoting a spirit of solidarity within the urban community.

This year, the city will therefore also take part in the “International Weeks Against Racism,” which take place around March 21, the “International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.”
The first “Oldenburg Weeks Against Racism” will be jointly organized by the Office for Migration and Integration, the Integration Department, and the Cultural Office from March 18 to March 27, 2026.

During this period, numerous events will take place throughout the city addressing issues such as racism, empowerment, and solidarity. The aim of the action weeks is to raise awareness about the various forms of racism and discrimination, make experiences visible, and encourage dialogue about possible actions to combat racism.

Thanks to the commitment of numerous cooperation partners, a diverse program has been created for the action weeks, featuring a wide range of events such as readings, film screenings, discussion groups, and exhibitions.
